GOAL 1-- ACADEMIC:  (Select ONE curricular goal for students, such as improving reading, math, writing, science, or other skills that the school will address in the next school year.)

Integrating mathematical concepts with real life situations and problem solving.

Desired result(s) for THIS goal: During a 3-year period, decrease by 10% the number of students scoring partial mastery and below, in every sub group, as measured by the CRT Test.

How will you measure the result(s)?  Examining CRT tests results Spring 2013.

 

Organize and schedule the family and community involvement activities to support THIS goal.

Reading – Students will improve reading participation by having books available at home.  Community involvement by attending Family Literacy Night, Family Library Night and Pre-School Library Time.

Desired result(s) for THIS goal:

Home Reading Program

Parent run program.   Books are sent home for students to read by parent volunteers.

Reading incentive program.  Students track days read each week.  Tickets are given for days read.  One bike is given away a month.  Weekly incentives are provided.

Utah authors Caralyn and Mark Buehner will spend the day.  Two assembly presentations and two classroom workshops.  The Buehner’s will present at the evening meeting. 
Student writing projects will also be on display.

Shark School families will eat pizza together.  A brief overview of the program.  Families will attend circle up and a high yield activity.  A family financial class will be provided.

Intervention provided for struggling students 3:15 – 4:15.
