SANDY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL COMMUNITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA

Agenda Items:

1. Welcome and call meeting to order -Shawn Walker
2. Approval of minutes from our last meeting: Motioned by Shawn Walker, seconded by Denee Bringhurst, Heidi Wilcox, Katie Bradshaw
3. Review School Safety Report from December and complete School Safety Report Update on CSD Dashboard with any actions taken- 1. talked to facilities, we were told we are stuck with the fence, crosswalk issue.  2.9000 S. was discussed with McKay Robinsonand it was put in the Snap committee.  Follow up next year as an action item. 
4. Discuss how we will publicize the work of the council to community and legislators (emails to policy makers; school newsletter; school website)- Put it in a school newsletter, facebook and an email to our representatives describing what we did in math, language arts, social emotional. 
5. Thoughts on PBIS needs at Sandy? – 1.strengthening school wide PBS Plan with PBIS rewards.  Strengthens instruction and expectations, data and specific kids or areas of the school that need more positives. Items vs.  2. Keeping Principals Pride, Token Tower, Green Coin Cards.  3. Token Tower coupons for passing levels on Lexia, i-Ready, Imagine Learning.  4. Book vending machine coming.
6. School Safety and Security
   1. Safety Drill report:  The Great Shake Out was successful-Went well
   2. May’s drill will be discussing teacher medical records and proof of immunizations in case of a breakout-if there is an outbreak, teachers need proof of immunization, including COVID.  
7. When should we hold our first meeting next year (given elections, etc.)? 3:10pm Thursday, September 9, 2021

Upcoming Meetings:

• We will continue to hold meetings on the 2nd Thursday of each month and we will start at 3:10 instead of 3:00.  Our first meeting of the new school year will be September 9.  We will hold our elections on this day as well.
