Aloha Sandy Elementary Families,
I’m so excited to be joining the team at Sandy Elementary as your new principal for this upcoming school year and years to come. My name is Elenoa Tuitavuki Pua, but you can call me Principal Pua. I’m originally from Kahuku, Hawaii, but I’ve made my way to Utah to further my education. With eight years of experience in administration in Title 1 schools, I am grateful to be a part of another amazing community.
As your new principal, I am excited to work with our dedicated educators and incredible families as I get to know each and every one of you. I truly believe in the vision of Sandy Elementary, where all members are committed to individualized scholarly success to help our students be prepared to be college and career ready.
This year marks the first official implementation year of the AVID program. The AVID framework encompasses essential skills that help students design their own future in the following: critical thinking, collaboration, reading, writing, and relationship building. We truly believe that by instilling confidence in our students, they can navigate challenges and achieve their full potential.
Our mission this year is to inspire students to build individual agency and life skills to create a meaningful (purposeful, intentional, positive) impact on their lives and the communities around them.
I am excited to meet all of our Sandy families and welcome our students to the 2024-2025 school year!
Mahalo nui loa,
Principal Pua
