Agenda Items:
1. Welcome and call meeting to order: Meeting called to order by the SCC Chair, Natalie Kowalis.
2. Approval of minutes from our last meeting: Minutes reviewed by SCC Secretary and approved by SCC.
3. Approvals/Discussion:
a. Update on Sandy School (academics, PBIS, AVID) PD for all Teachers during Teacher work day. The PD vertically aligned our AVID efforts across grade levels. Teachers learned from each other and Admin received positive feedback about the PD. 19 Teachers are going to the AVID conference this summer.
b. Review TSSP/Land Trust goals for 25-26: TSSP and LandTrust Goals reviewed and finalized. Reading, Math, and Climate goals in each grade discussed.
c. Vote to approve TSSP/Land Trust goals 25-26: Action Plan Summary discussed and summarized for Math and Reading. SCC voted- motioned passed unanimous.
d. Technology discussion and submit vote:
Lively discussion and feedback from parents. Specific concerns and questions listed here:
- Why must all students be punished for the actions of a few?
- Why can’t substitutes have access to LanSchool?
- Can we get a set of “sub laptops” to be checked out for the day and used in classrooms?
- Teachers will need to be very specific on sub plans to instruct subs to monitor chrome book usage closely.
- We need to make parents more aware that Digital Citizenship is taught to their student during Thrive Time.
- Is there a way to make student chrome book usage reports more readily available to parents?
- On the highly restrictive option, would Canvas and Clever be blocked?
- On the highly restrictive option, would specified and approved videos from You Tube be allowed?
