Agenda Items:

  1. Welcome and call meeting to order
  2. Approval of minutes from our last meeting: Previous meeting’s minutes summarized and approved.
  3. Review members and decide on removing any if necessary. The board decided to attempt one more contact before removing SCC members who have not participated as of yet.
  4. Can we change our March 9 meeting date? The Board voted to change the March meeting to the 16th, and the April meeting to the 20th.
  5. Continue writing TSSP and LAND Trust plans for next year.  Look at Winter Benchmark scores. Shawn Walker shared recent test score data with the SCC. CBM results and COMP results for each grade were discussed. Shawn highlighted the fact that as we have focused our interventions on the lower grades, we can see academic growth in grades K-1st. We are seeing positive things happening as we focus on early interventions.

Areas for Growth were also discussed. Sandy’s ODRs have significantly increased. We have implemented a new ‘scholarly effort’ to address this trend. Teachers are focusing students on achieving academic success and taking pride in our ability to learn new things. This strategy will continue. Surveys have been distributed to determine how ‘scholarly’ students feel individually. Another area for growth includes attendance. This is a focus of the school and we are implementing strategies to educate our students and community about the importance of attending school every day.

The SCC reviewed the current plan discussed in BLT regarding modifying our goal to “on benchmark or making 4 or 5 star growth”. The SCC voted to keep the goal at “benchmark or 3 star growth” and give that initiative time to see success. SCC discussed increasing Tier II interventions in 1st grade specifically. Shawn will take these thoughts back to the BLT for discussion.

  1. Review current year’s LAND Trust plan, data and expenditures and review if on course or if amendments are necessary. We are on track in this area.
  2. Discuss the end of year carnival: We discussed donations as we gear up for the Carnival. Isa will look into Costco and Walmart donations. Isa will reach out to Jordan High to secure teenage volunteers. Jen and Mallry will meet and plan.
  3. Closing
