SANDY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 

COMMUNITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA

Agenda Items:

1. Welcome and call meeting to order 

1. Instate new members for the current year
   1. Affirm/Elect chair and vice-chair

Jen Wright was elected as chair. Nicky Garcia was elected as vice chair. 

1. SCC By-Laws
   1. Review and Adjust: 

-By-Laws Adjusted: grammatical errors fixed. The limited number for members changed from 12 to 15. 

-Rules and Order of Procedure reviewed. Parliamentary procedure will be followed. Motions reviewed. If a motion is tied it will fail. 

1. Review Land Trust and TSSA plans.  
   1. Discuss potential amendments.

-Land Trust action plan steps reviewed.

-Close reading described by Teachers present. 

-Foundation blocks emphasized this year to compensate for Covid slide. 

-TSSA plan reviewed- CAYCI elements will need to be revised. After School monetary allocations  will need to be reallocated because after school programs will not be implemented this year. Next meeting we will make official changes. 

-Sound systems for the gym and cafeteria were proposed.

-Gaga ball playground equipment proposed. 

-Adding chrome books, cases, and headphones to the school inventory was proposed. 

1. School Safety and Security
   1. Safety Drill report for August: 

-Due to Covid, the evacuation testing process has been changed. September 4th, 2020 Sandy Elementary conducted a fire drill per grade level. Average time: 230 seconds. Alarm was not required this year. Teachers proposed pulling the alarm in an effort to prepare the students with the alarming sound. 

1. Input on south drop-off:

-School resource officer gave us permission to set up cones to delineate the no parking and student crossing zones. The officer will be present on the south side for the next few mornings. SNAP plan will be reviewed.
