COMMUNITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

Date: 1/14/21                          Time: 3:00 pm                        Location: Virtual

Members in Attendance: Jen Wright, Isa Connelly, Shawn Walker, Candice, Denee Bringhurst, Heidi Wilcox

Agenda Items:

1. Welcome and call meeting to order
2. Approval of minutes from our last meeting-second and sustained
3. Update the SCC roster (we have some members who have not attended this year)

There are two members on the roster who have not attended SCC as of yet this school year. We will contact these members and ascertain their availability and interest level. Shawn will contact the absent members. If new members need to added we will look into that.

1. Discuss appropriate temperatures that will trigger an inside day

Approved by the BLT and PTA: if the weather is below (or feels like below) 25 degrees, it will be an ‘inside morning’. If the weather shows 25 degrees or above (or feels like above 25 degrees) it will be an ‘outside morning’. SCC agreed and sustained this standard.

1. Look at the final report from the previous year

Review previous school year report (2019-2020). The school year was cut short and achievement of goals associated with the TSSP and Land Trust Plan may have been compromised. Plans to review previous plan in the next SCC meeting set.

1. Begin writing TSSP and LAND Trust Plan for the upcoming year

Strong plans are in place.Let’s consider changing/ simplifying verbage going forward. In the new plan, be sure to consider student growth, rigorousness of the goals, etc. In the next SCC meeting, refer to specific 2019-2020 plan and make changes as needed.

1. School Safety and Security
   1. Safety Drill report for December and January

December- Faculty only drill- ESCAPE drill. Reviewed information on lockdown procedures.

January- Evacuation drills were held on 1/12/2021 on a very cold morning. The entire school evacuated by grade. The drill was a success.

1. Closing

Amendments to budget were approved. New technology is on its way. May have to wait 6 months for some products.
