Dear Parents and Guardians of Sandy Elementary students. Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year. This year is going to look a bit different, but Sandy Elementary PTA is here to continue our mission of supporting our school, staff, and students.
Because of COVID-19 restrictions put in place, there will be no PTA membership drive this fall. We are asking parents to please sign-up and pay your PTA dues through our MemberHub store with the link below. You do not need to create an account to do this, just click the link and choose your membership type (family, parent/guardian, grandparent, etc), and follow the prompts. Anybody can be a member of the PTA if they choose, grandparents, aunts, uncles, members of our community.

The PTA will still be supporting the programs we’ve always supported with some changes.
These include: Principal Pride, book fair, teacher/staff appreciation, reflections, birthday table, ribbon week, spirit nights, t-shirts, and our annual fundraiser. At this time field trips will not be happening, and our fundraiser will be online this fall. More information will be coming soon about the fundraiser.

PTA would also like to mention, we do not have a president elect for 2021-2022 school year. This is the person who shadows the current president and takes over the following year. The current president has been PTA president for 2 consecutive years, no position in the board can be held by the same member for more than 2 years. In order for the Sandy to have a PTA we need a president, treasurer, and secretary. By law (501c charity laws) without those positions filled there will be no PTA. Without PTA there will be no field trips, book fairs, principal pride, teacher appreciation, etc. We hope some parents will come forward and learn more about what we do. The current executive board will all be moving on in 3 years’ time with their youngest to middle school, there needs to be new members to fill the void. PTA is a great way to get to know your students’ school, teachers, and administrators. We hope more will join us.
We hope to have another great year at Sandy. We want to welcome our new principal, Shawn Walker. We already think he’s JAWSOME! We welcome back all our Sandy teachers, staff and new staff members joining us this year.
