Sandy Elementary 2024-25 Teacher of the Year

We are proud to announce Mrs. Sarah Murphey as Sandy’s Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Murphey is highly respected by both her students and colleagues. She goes above and beyond in her duties, creating a classroom atmosphere filled with mutual respect. Her strong leadership and problem-solving skills have greatly contributed to the success of the 5th grade team, helping foster a collaborative, positive environment.

 

Mrs. Murphey is incredibly patient and kind, especially with challenging students. She tailors her teaching to meet the diverse needs of her class, offering both enrichment for those excelling and intervention for those struggling. Her dedication to supporting every student’s growth, both academically and emotionally, is evident in her work.

Mrs. Murphey ‘s passion for teaching shines through in her ability to connect with all students, making learning fun and engaging. Whether it’s jumping into class activities or motivating students to participate in school events, her energy is contagious. She creates a warm and welcoming classroom where all students feel safe, valued, and able to express themselves freely.

 

Her classroom management is exceptional, and she consistently uses strategies like AVID to increase student engagement and success. She communicates effectively with parents, always prioritizing the needs of her students. Mrs. Murphey’s ability to handle even the most challenging situations with grace, while still providing quality instruction, is a testament to her skill and dedication.

 

Mrs. Murphey is a treasure to Sandy Elementary, loved by her students and colleagues alike. She is a truly outstanding educator who exemplifies what it means to be a leader and a teacher, making her more than deserving of the Teacher of the Year award.
